Delano Park
Delano Park offers an exciting and safe environment with Zipline, Art & Crafts, Interactive Games. A great place for kids and families. Families love visiting for its fun-filled experience.
Went here with my Husband and adult Son. Bathrooms were clean. Park had lots of picnic areas and walking trails. The park has a very nice, large playground for kids. There are many informative markers telling you about various animals and plants found in the area. They had several sculptures that made awesome photo opps, such as a giant dragonfly made of found items, a Rabbit, several frogs, a beaver and a nice round area that had metal fish of different sizes in the concrete rotunda. Each fish had the name of a type of fish found in Alabama. There are many unusual , beautiful plants here and the park actually continues down the road , as a beautiful rose garden. The park is next to.the Kiwanis park which has many fields for those who wish to play sports.
There is plenty of free parking too! It would be even nicer though, if they had some vending machines for cold drinks and snacks. If you happen to be in Decatur, I think you’d enjoy this park.
