Norfolk Zoo delivered an unforgettable family experience! Our visit was packed with excitement—from the charming farm animals and captivating reptile exhibit to the awe-inspiring Tiger Trail. My 5- and 2-year-olds were thrilled every step of the way, especially during the $3/person train ride (this was definitely the highlight for my kids). Entry was smooth despite the crowds, thanks to **pre-paid tickets** keeping lines short. Navigating the zoo was a breeze, and we loved the clean, safe petting area and interactive play spots that kept the kids engaged every step of the way, but it never felt overwhelming to them.
The staff truly shined—knowledgeable, friendly, and even introducing hands-on encounters with animals like a ridgeback turtle! The only hiccups? Leaving at closing meant a **20-minute wait** in the parking lot, though some families turned it into fun playtime. Pro tip: Exit a bit early if you’re in a hurry.
Also the gift shop closes a bit early as well.(seems like it just closed as we were exiting around 4:10) So my 5 year old was very sad we couldn’t get anything on our way out. So make sure you check the shop hours before you plan to exit
