Newport News Park Playground

This park is absolute perfection! There is something for everyone. The play parks for the kids are clean and modern, the walking paths and paved road access are clear and offer great views while being accessible for anyone. The canopies for events were clean , however the trash needed attention (I visited at sunset, the rangers may have been making rounds). The bridges to the waterway views were perfectly located offering views of wildlife and water. The campground was a campground lol perfect for camping and surprisingly quiet for the middle of a city near a busy road. I saw the pedal boats but I’m not sure if they were still being utilized. The staff at the ranger stations were helpful and friendly when we were looking for a restroom, it was next to us- so convenient. The park offers shade and sun areas. There are also plenty of history markers for war and military history fans. I mainly walk the trails but I stoped for occasional reading of the historical makers. Again, I think it is perfect.
