We visited this garden on New Year’s Eve, as we had a leisurely start for the day. This was the best place we could have picked to relax and enjoy nature. It is a beautifully designed garden with many of the Japanese themes like small arched bridges over reflecting ponds, bonsai trees and small rock sculptures. The best part is that you have the Hilo Bay right in front of you and can catch kayaks passing by. There is a large banyan tree that is very beautiful and for the first time we saw native Nene birds. A really serene and tranquil place that is ideal for a brisk walk or even a gentle stroll. It is absolutely free! A must-visit.
