Reviews

Layton Commons Park is such a fantastic spot for families and nature lovers alike. The playground here is absolutely top-notch—kids can spend hours climbing, swinging, and sliding on the equipment. It’s one of those parks where the whole family can have a great time. That said, I have to admit I was a little sad to see they took out the infamous “death spin” ride. It might not have been the safest, but it was definitely one of the most memorable features. Losing that was a bit of a bummer because it was so much fun (and a little thrilling)!
What really sets Layton Commons Park apart, though, is how great it is for birdwatching. The ponds scattered throughout the park are alive with activity, especially from the ducks. Watching them paddle around or waddle up to the shore adds a fun and relaxing vibe to any visit. If you’re lucky, you might spot other birds, too, like geese or the occasional heron. It’s such a peaceful spot to connect with nature, whether you’re out for a walk or just sitting by the water.
The park itself is beautiful, with plenty of open green spaces, shaded picnic areas, and walking paths that wind around the ponds and through the trees. It’s perfect for a casual stroll, a family outing, or even just some quiet time to relax. The combination of a great playground, active birdlife, and serene surroundings makes this park a real gem in Layton.
Even without the “death spin,” Layton Commons Park remains one of my favorite spots. Between the fantastic playground, the ducks, and the peaceful atmosphere, it’s always worth a visit. Highly recommended for families, birdwatchers, and anyone who just loves spending time outdoors!
