We visited the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium on a Sunday at 3 PM, about two hours before closing. We took the train near the polar bear enclosure, which was a great way to explore the left half of the zoo. Along the ride, we saw elephants, llamas, kangaroos, and a few other animals. After that, we visited the aquarium, which was a fantastic experience—the atmosphere and ambiance were really well done.
Covering the entire zoo and aquarium on foot would definitely take a full day. If you’re in Kansas City, this is definitely a must-visit spot!
