Horner Park Nature Play Space

This is a very cool and unexpected kids play area at Horner Park. At first glance it looks like a random arrangement of tree branches and logs, but it’s actually several separate little spaces for kids to hide and play, with nice mulched ground and a canopy of trees overhead for shade and cover. I will note that many of the branches are not secured to the structures, so there is some risk for injury. But if you believe the scientific evidence that kids need more unstructured play areas with inherent risk, this is a fantastic place to go. My daughter spent as much time here as the fancy playground a few hundred yards north.
