Fort Island Park is a clean, safe park with some great amenities. The nature center is really cool and has a lot of fun, free programs for kids. There are four tennis courts, two basketball courts, a small field to play in, and a long hiking path that goes into the woods and through a swampy area on a wooden walkway all the way to the highway (just visible through the trees in one of the photos of the forest. A real hidden gem!
