The campground is up on the mountain overlooking the Mine Exhibition museum. Although the road was narrow and winding, we had no problem getting up there pulling a travel trailer.
The museum is wonderful. Very friendly knowledgeable staff. My husband went down in the mines while I toured with my 6 year old granddaughter. The best part was the restored school house. The guide made it so much fun for everyone.
We we’re returning from Colonial Williamsburg and Historic Jamestown; everyone enjoyed this as much or more than those sites. And the drive along Rt 64 was beautiful. We will go back in the fall and enjoy the changing colors.
