Zoo Knoxville

Fun family night out at “Boo in the Zoo”. I have always been a fan of Zoo Knoxville. I’m continually impressed with the work Zoo Knoxville performs to make it a World class Zoo! Not only a great experience for humans, Zoo Knoxville ensures the animals are well cared for, in a secure environment. Although I have visited Zoo Knoxville many times over the years, this was my first Boo in the Zoo experience. Upon our arrival, observing the huge line of people waiting to enter, I expected complete chaos inside the Zoo. However, much to my delight, the early Saturday night event was well organized and orderly. The seasonal Halloween event was a lot of fun for both adults and children. Naturally, lots of great Halloween costumes on the adults and children. Of course, lots of complimentary candy given out, too. The entire Zoo was decorated with really cool Halloween decorations. Honestly, I had a great time (which was totally unexpected!) It was a perfect evening; great fun for families and people of all ages. Unfortunately, we didn’t see many animals, which was disappointing for animal lovers, like myself. It seemed as if most of the animals were off-exbit or possibly in their shelters. The large crowd may be a detrimental issue for the animals and it may not be wise to have them on display. Regardless, Boo in the Zoo was not the best event if you’re interested in observing the resident animals. My extended family did have the opportunity to observe two Giraffes and two sleeping monkeys. Otherwise, our visit to the zoo was all about Halloween. As always, the Zoo facilities look great; very clean and well maintained. There is a lot of construction in progress. It appears several new animal enclosures will be opening soon. Absolutely, Zoo Knoxville has my highest recommendation. It’s a awesome facility for everyone to enjoy!
